Netflix confirmed that “Jessica Jones” is indeed returning for Season 2 during the Television Critics Association panel. The show, which was first released on the streaming site last November, has received raves from viewers including the Critics Choice panel who nominated Ritter for her performance.

The series also stars David Tennant, Mike Colter, Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Wil Traval, Eka Darville and Erin Moriarty.

The show’s synopsis from Netflix’s press release per Slash Film:

“Currently streaming its first season on Netflix, Marvel’s Jessica Jones is a suspenseful, edgy look into the life of Jessica Jones, one of the most popular new Marvel characters of the last decade. After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a private investigator in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood.”

Showrunners intend to do some chances in the second season of “Jessica Jones” by expanding the ensemble. “Poor Krysten Ritter, she was in every scene that we shot, we beat the crap out of her. She was a shell of a human being by the time we ended, and that is not sustainable,” said showrunner Melissa Rosenberg via Deadline.
