India High Commission made demarche to Australian govt. about ‘offensive’ lamb ad

The High Commission of India in Australia (Canberra) “have made a demarche to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Department of Communication and Arts and Department of Agriculture bringing to their notice an offensive advertisement by Meat and Livestock Australia that hurt the religious sentiments of the Indian community”, according to its release.

Health group renews call for ouster of tobacco industry rep from tobacco control body

HealthJustice Philippines, a think tank with legal expertise in tobacco control and health promotion, once again urges Congress to amend RA 9211 to specifically exclude the Philippine Tobacco Institute (PTI) from sitting in the Inter-Agency Committee on Tobacco, the government body tasked by the said law to lead the implementation of tobacco control laws.

DHL and Huawei Accelerate Inbound-to-manufacturing Logistics with Internet of Things Solution

DHL Supply Chain together with Huawei Technologies has launched a Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) application at an automotive site in Liuzhou, China. Leveraging existing infrastructure and limited investments, the implemented IoT solution is designed to facilitate and streamline yard management for inbound-to-manufacturing logistics, leading to significant improvements in inbound processing time at the site. The proof of concept will run until the end of September with 100 DHL drivers at a section with 30 docks.

Peace group lauds new BBL but rejects plan to extend Martial Law

The All-Out Peace (AOP) movement, a broad network of peace advocates and civil society groups, welcomes the submission by the 21-member Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) of the new draft of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) to President Rodrigo Duterte on July 17 and lauds the commitment by the President to certify the proposed measure as urgent and “husband” the same before both houses of Congress.
