Marvel’s “The Inhumans,” which will be airing on ABC during the 2017 season has picked a showrunner who is already working for the studio. “Iron Fist” boss Scott Buck will be overseeing the new superhero series that was originally set as movie.

“The Inhumans” is scheduled for a fall 2017 air date and it will follow an unusual debut on television. The first two episodes will actually be coming to IMAX theaters before it begins its run on ABC in September, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“The Inhumans” is about a group of people who possess different super powers. The project is based on a Marvel comic book series created by Stan Lee in 1965 with Jack Kirby. Central to the story is Black Bolt and the royal family of inhumans.

It’s still unclear who will play the lead roles as casting is the next step into the pre-production. Vin Diesel earlier expressed that he is interested in the role, but “Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn believes that the actor won’t likely do a TV Show, according to Slash Film. “Unless Vin wants to take a huge pay cut and sign up to do a TV show it seems unlikely,” Gunn said.

Scott Buck also worked on “Dexter” in its final three seasons. He’s had years of experience as a showrunner.
