English Football League return still possible; season can finish in 56 days

The current English Football League season may still be able to return and finish in 56 days, provided that it is already safe to play once again.

That is according to an online report citing EFL chairman Rick Parry.

The league has distributed letters to all participating clubs, and among the instructions for them is to not hold training until May 16th.

If the season ever returns, matches are likely to be played behind closed doors as well.

Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion currently leads the EFL Championship table with 71 and 70 points, respectively.

Most major professional sports leagues worldwide were cancelled or suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
