Coronavirus: ‘Spider-Man’ Star Tom Holland Goes Into Self-Isolation

Tom Holland is going into self-isolation. The Spider-Man actor declared on his Instagram that he has not yet gotten checked for coronavirus but he will be taking precautions after feeling sick.

The star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) said in a video that he doesn’t think it’s the coronavirus. However, after feeling awful when he woke up, Holland said that he must stay indoors.

“I’m feeling really ill today,” the actor said in Instagram stories. “I don’t think I have the coronavirus, but I’m taking extra precautions. I’m self-isolating inside. This is the first day I’ve felt really ill,” he added. “I felt fine yesterday and then this morning I woke up and I just was awful, coughing.”

The coronavirus pandemic has impacted hundreds of thousands including several Hollywood stars. Tom Hanks was first to declare that he contracted the virus while filming in Australia. His wife Rita Wilson was also positive for COVID-19.

Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina Dhowre were also positive but said that they were asymptomatic. However, they have been isolating at home after Elba learned he was previously at an event with someone who was also exposed to the coronavirus.

Game of Thrones actor Kristopher Hivjualso tested positive while filming in Norway. He said that he as mild symptoms only. Daniel Dae Kim also came out to share that he has COVID-19 upon going home to Hawaii since the work on the set of New Amsterdam in New York was shut down.

Health officials advised people who are feeling ill to stay home and rest, so as not to spread the virus. Holland was preparing to begin filming for Spider-Man 3. The production was supposed to start in the summer, however, it could be pushed back amidst the changing and challenging times with the pandemic looming over everyone.

Meanwhile, Holland’s animated film with Chris Pratt, Onward, will be out on Disney Plus and Video on Demand soon after the movie ran in theaters. Since movie houses are closed and many folks are staying home, Disney has decided to release new films on their streaming platform for those in self-isolation.
