‘The Mighty Ducks’ Star Shaun Weiss Fundrasier Created to Help Arrested Actor

After his arrest for residential burglary, actor Shaun Weiss has found some support in one friend who thinks that the actor, who played Goldberg in “The Might Ducks” franchise, deserves some compassion even if he is to blame about his current plight.

According to People, Weiss’ friend, Drew Gallagher, has set up a Go Fund Me for the embattled actor because he is mentally sick. The fundraiser, which aims to raise $25,000, should help Weiss for his bail and rehabilitation.  As of press, time the fundraiser has $7,070 so far.

Gallagher said that despite his mental health issues, Weiss is “the nicest, softest, sweetest human being.” Calling the actor his brother, Gallagher said that Weiss actually “understands the dire situation he’s in.”

Weiss was arrested last Tuesday, Jan. 28, after breaking into a private residence in California. The actor also broke the windshield of a car parked inside the house’s garage.

Apparently, the actor’s mental and physical health has been rapidly deteriorating since 2015 due to addiction. Family members told Daily Mail that Weiss’ arrest has been painful. While they have been trying to get some help for the actor, he apparently didn’t want to be in a facility.

Weiss made a name for himself as a child actor in “The Mighty Ducks” franchise, where he played the goalie who loved to talk about food. His larger and fuller face also endeared him to the viewers.

According to friends, Weiss’ addiction to meth became worse after the death of his father. He was also arrested in 2017 for stealing but was released after 12 days. He was then arrested again and was in jail for three months.

In 2018, Weiss was also arrested for public intoxication and shocked some fans of “The Mighty Ducks” when his mugshot was released. At that time, he said that he was checking into a rehab.
