No Kai Sotto for Mighty Sports in Dubai basketball tourney

Filipino teenage basketball sensation Kai Sotto will not be able to join Mighty Sports in the upcoming 2020 Dubai International Basketball Championship.

Per an online report citing the club’s announcement, Sotto will not suit up for the Philippine squad due to logistical difficulties.

The 7-foot-2 Sotto was earlier named part of the club, a move that excited Filipino hoops enthusiasts as he was expected to team up with naturalized Gilas Pilipinas big man Andray Blatche.

Instead, Blatche and Renaldo Balkman will have to carry the load for Mighty Sports in the tournament which starts on January 23.

Also part of the club handled by Charles Tiu are Dave Ildefonso, Thirdy Ravena, and the Gomez de Liano brothers Juan and Javi.

Sotto is currently in the United States playing for developmental squad The Skills Factory as part of his preparation toward making it to the NBA.
