PBA Finals: Chris McCullough doesn’t care about Best Import award, wants championship

Chris McCullough notched a crucial 20-20 double-double that led the San Miguel Beermen past the TNT KaTropa in a gritty Game 4 encounter, 106-101 of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals Sunday night.

McCullough finished with 27 points and 22 boards, while also assisting on 4 field goals.

With his effort, the Beermen were able to tie the series at 2-2 heading to Wednesday’s game.

And while missing out on the Best Import of the Conference award TNT KaTropa reinforcement Terrence Jones won, McCullough said he has bigger goals in mind.

“I don’t care about the Best Import. He was here before I was here, first of all. I doesn’t matter to me,” said McCullough via ABS-CBN Sports Online. “I’m just here to win a championship, that’s about it.”

McCullough was a replacement import midway in the Commissioner’s Cup and turned the Beermen’s fortunes around.

The Beermen have gone 10-4 with McCullough as their import.

The former Washington Wizard added he is determined to finish the job.

“Right now, it’s 0-0. We’re tied 2-2 and we just go out there, play good basketball, and get a win,” he said. “We just gotta go out there and finish games.”
