‘Ghost Rider’ Series Coming at Hulu with Gabriel Luna

Marvel Television has announced the coming of a live-action series centering on “Ghost Rider.” Gabriel Luna has been tapped for the lead role and the series is set to premiere in 2020.

Luna was introduced as the character Ghost Rider/Robbie Reyes in the fourth season of Marvel’s “Agent’s of the SHIELD.” However, the HULU series will not have any connection to the ABC show, as per Mervel Television.

The actor confirmed that he will once again ride in “Ghost Rider” in a tweet.

“It’s an honor to ride again with @Marvel and our new partner @Hulu,” Luna said.

Luna is a Texas-born actor with Mexican heritage. He made his debut on the screen in the movie “Fall to Grace” and has appeared in shows like “Prison Break,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” and “True Detective.”

The actor was cast in the lead role of the series “Matador” which only ran for one season before snagging the part of Ghost Rider/Robbie Reyes.

“Ghost Rider” is about an entity who assumes different bodies. In the comic book versions, the Ghost Rider had different iterations and Robbie Reyes is just one of it.

Cursed and mystical, the Ghost Rider travels at night in a flaming motorcycle to find guilty souls to inflict pain as penance for their misdeeds. The character possesses strength and indestructibility like no other.

Ingrid Escajeda will be the showrunner of the Hulu series, as per Variety.  Marvel Television has not yet announced the show’s premiere date.

Meanwhile, aside from “Ghost Rider,” Marvel Television will also produce a live-action version of “Helstorm” for Hulu. This story will follow the sibliing Daimon and Ana Helstrom, whose parent is a serial killer.

“Ghost Rider” and “Helstrom” are not just the Marvel shows that air on Hulu. The streaming platform also has Marvel’s “Runways” which is headed to its third season.
