UAAP football: UP, FEU clash

Defending champion University of the Philippines seeks to regain its winning ways as it tangles with Far Eastern University today (Sunday) in the UAAP men’s football tournament.

Kick-off is at 1 p.m. at the FEU-Diliman pitch.

Ateneo eyes for its first back-to-back wins of the season against Adamson University at 3 p.m., while University of Santo Tomas tries to rebound from its worst loss of the tournament in the 9 a.m. clash with University of the East.

The Fighting Maroons cannot be complacent, as the Tamaraws are gunning for the solo lead.

UP’s remarkable 16-match undefeated streak came to an end Thursday following a shock 1-2 defeat from the hands of De La Salle. The Maroons are currently level with the Growling Tigers at six points in fourth spot.

FEU moved up to solo second with eight points after beating National University, 2-1, also on Thursday.

After a string of disappointments, the Jarvey Gayoso and the Blue Eagles finally had a breakthrough.

With three points to show – all coming from draws – the Falcons need to elevate their game to snatch the elusive first win.
