The Seoul Samsung Thunders will face the Guangzhou Long-Lions in the Asia League Summer Super 8 tournament after getting past their respective foes in the semifinals held at the Macao East Asian Games Dome.

In the first pairing, the Thunders hacked out an 84-74 victory over the ETLand Elephants in tightly contested match.

Trailing by 13 at the start of the final period, 66-53, ETLand was unable to overhaul the lead of the Thunders. They face the NLEX Road Warriors in the battle for third.

In the second match, Shirelijian Muxtar led the Long-Lions in the fourth period and stepped up on defense.

NLEX was able to whittle down the lead to as little by 2 in the third quarter but failed to sustain that in the payoff period.
