“Riverdale” season 3 is not due until October 10 but followers of the hit TV series are now busy speculating on the new characters that could be inserted on the show.
In the season 2 finale, it will be recalled that Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) was arrested as he was about to be sworn in as student council president. Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) also became the new “Serpent King” after his dad, FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich), announced he was retiring this time for real.
Speaking of the Joneses, reports are saying that Jughead and FP are about to get company in “Riverdale” season 3. Jellybean, a name that has been often mentioned in several episodes, is reportedly set to join the cast next season together with her mother, Gladys Jones.
While that should be a new twist in the series, there is no official word yet on who would be playing both characters. There are theories on who could play the role although nothing is definite.
For Jellybean, the name of Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) has been mentioned. The name of the 14-year-old actress was mentioned several months ago via Reddit courtesy of a fan.
If not Brown, other names suggested include Dafne Keen (Logan), Rowan Blanchard (Girl Meets World), Mackenzie Foy (Twilight: Breaking Dawn), and Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass).
Outside those names, there are some hoping to see a lesser known actress to play the role, pointing out that some other character who has not gotten a big role would be fitting.
With regards to Gladys Jones, the same holds true. Rumors have it that Neve Campbell or even Alyssa Milano could take on the role.
Holly Marie Combs is another, emerging as a frontrunner for liking a number of tweets tied up to the show. Could she be the one?
Riverdale season three is due to air on The CW in the USA on October 10.
