‘A.P. Bio’ nabs second season on NBC

NBC has given the midseason comedy series “A.P. Bio” a second season following. The show, which has late night host Seth Meyers as one of its producers, will be back for another run.

The Peacock network made “A.P. Bio” a priority in its midseason line-up and has proven to be a ratings puller in its timeline.

As per Deadline: The high school comedy starring Glenn Howerton has not been a breakout. A.P. Bio is averaging a modest 1.2 rating in 18-49 and 3.7 million viewers overall in L+7 . But comedies are usually slow at the start and need time to grow. Plus, A.P. Bio has been relatively well received by critics, and it has been attracting highly educated audiences — the series indexes at a 149 among adults 18-49 with four or more years of college to rank #3 among primetime series on the Big 4 networks.

A.B. Bio has been the strongest ratings performer among NBC’s bubble comedy series that also include freshman Champions and sophomore Great News.

“A.P. Bio” is written and executive produced by Mike O’Brien. Seth Meyers, Mike Shoemaker, Andrew Singer and Lorne Michaels also serve as executive producers. “A.P. Bio” is produced by Universal Television, Broadway Video and Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions.

“A.P. Bio” is averaging a 1.2 rating in 18-49 and 3.7 million viewers overall in L+7 Nielsens, while delivering one of the most highly educated audiences on the broadcast networks – “A.P. Bio” indexes at a 149 among adults 18-49 with four or more years of college (100 represents an average concentration of those households) to rank #3 among primetime series on the Big 4 networks.
