Demi Moore is joining the cast of “Empire.” The actress’ character is going to be introduced in the season finale of the drama series on Fox but her involvement with the Lyons will come into play in the succeeding season. Will she star in the rumored spinoff as well?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Moore will play a nurse with a mysterious past on “Empire.” She will be more prominent in the fourth season, but viewers will get to meet her character first in the season finale of Season 3, which potentially ends its run in May.

The casting, however, has elicited rumors that Moore could figure in the “Empire” spinoff. Lee Daniels, the creator of “Empire” has addressed this spinoff rumors back in January when he confirmed that there were talks in place.

“We really are in deep talks about it, and we’re having all these ideas thrown around to figure it out. But I can officially say that we will be having a spinoff,” Daniels said. The spinoff is reportedly going to be a prequel to “Empire.”

Moore isn’t the first in her family to join the series, though. Her daughter Rumer Willis also guest starred on the show last year. “Empire” stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Bryshere Y. Gray, Jussie Smollett, Trai Byers, Grace Byers, Malik Yoba, Kaitlin Doubleday and Gabourey Sidibe. It’s about a family that has build a successful hip-hop music empire.
