Damian Lewis Cast as Villain In ‘Ocean’s Eight’

The female-centered “Ocean’s Eight,” a spinoff to “Ocean’s Eleven,” has found its villain in Damian Lewis. The actor will be going after Sandra Bullock and the rest of the cast.

Damian Lewis is an ex-lover who is the target of the Bullock’s all-female thieves team. The movie is based off a script written by Gary Ross.

Bullock is taking on the role of George Clooney’s sister who played Danny Ocean in the earlier film. Hence, she is actually an Ocean. Sources are unsure if the actor will make a cameo in the movie, but reports have it that Matt Damon is willing to have a short role. The actor is part of “Ocean’s Eleven” along with Brad Pitt. Julia Roberts played the love interest, while Andy Garcia was the villain.

“Ocean’s Eight” is not confirmed a sequel or a reboot, but it will be based on Steven Soderberg production that was also inspired by the 1960s film. Joining Bullock are a bevy of strong and inspiring women like Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson and Awkwafina.

“Ocean’s Eight” has a June 2018 release date. The cast is currently filming in New York.
