‘How I Met Your Mother’ Reunion Talks Spark, Jason Segel Says He’s On Board

How I Met Your Mother

It has only been over two years since “How I Met Your Mother” bowed from television, but there are already talks of a potential reunion. The show — which stars Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Neil Patrick Harris, Colbie Smulders and Alyson Hannigan — ran for nine seasons on CBS. It had the most polarizing series ending, which continues to be debated by fans. Will they warm up to the idea for a potential reunion?

The HIMYM reunion idea was brought up during Jason Segel’s participation at the Austin Film Festival over the weekend. He said that should there actually be one taking place, he’s not going to say no.

“I’d be around for whatever those guys wanted to do. It changed my life,” the actor said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He has no idea how the reunion would play out but he puts his trust completely on the writers.

“How I Met Your Mother” was created by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, who also wrote much of the episodes. “One of the great things about my relationship to that show is I never got involved in the writing, I just tried to execute what these brilliant writers did, so I would leave that to them, as usual,” Jason Segel further said.

Meanwhile, the cast of “How I Met Your Mother” have since flourished with their individual projects since the show ended. Neil Patrick Harris had his own variety series on NBC and will soon be seen in the Netflix show, “A Series of Unfortunate Events.”

While Colbie Smulders became an Avenger after HIMYM, Josh Radnor has starred in a period drama “Mercy Street.” On the other hand, Allison Hannigan has been doing TV guesting left and right and will soon be seen in “The First Wives Club” TV adaptation.
