SINGAPORE, 13 OCTOBER 2016 – Three-time MTV EMA winner Bruno Mars will make a grand return to the EMAs stage for the first live global performance of his brand new single which dropped just this past Friday, “24K Magic,” LIVE at the 2016 MTV EMAs. This will be Mars’ third EMA performance as he returns to the show in the Netherlands, following his 2013 performance of “Gorilla” at the 2013 MTV EMAs in Amsterdam. Four of pop music’s biggest global breakthrough acts are joining the 2016 MTV EMAs performer lineup from around the world. Leading, multi-platinum selling artist and Canadian pop superstar “Best Male” nominee Shawn Mendes, American pop rock sensations and “Best New” candidates DNCE, Danish soul-pop band and “Best Song” contenders Lukas Graham, and Swedish global pop sensation and “Best New” nominee Zara Larsson will all travel to Rotterdam this November to take the stage at Ahoy Rotterdam on Monday, 7 November at 3am (TH/WIB) and 4am (MY/PH/SG). The show repeats on the same day at 8pm (TH/WIB) and 9pm (MY/PH/SG).

All four acts will be making their first appearances on the MTV EMAs stage.
“24K Magic” is the lead single from Mars’ third studio album of the same title, and Mars’ first piece of solo music in nearly four years. The singer unveiled the highly anticipated track and music video worldwide on 7 October. The “24K Magic” album will arrive on 18 November.

The eleven-time EMA nominee and winner of “Best Song” in 2011 snagged his first five number one Billboard singles in less time than any artist since Elvis Presley. Mars’ robust pipeline of smash hits has spawned some of today’s catchiest songs including “Uptown Funk,” “Locked Out of Heaven” and “Nothin’ On You.”
Fans will also see DNCE and Lukas Graham face off in two categories—“Best New” and “Best Push,” the latter referencing the brand’s ongoing MTV Push initiative that amplifies artists on the rise. All four have been named MTV Push artists, with Mendes winning “Best Push” (along with “Best New”) at last year’s EMAs.

With two EMA nods on the heels of their MTV Video Music Awards “Best New Artist” win in August, DNCE will perform their first EMAs set this November drawing from their slate of international chart-topping hits, including their steamy new single “Body Moves.” The multiplatinum-selling band fronted by Joe Jonas first took the world by storm with their smash single “Cake By The Ocean.”

Since their debut album dropped earlier this year, Danish group Lukas Graham have taken over the airwaves around the world with their unique sound, combining elements of pop, soul and hip hop. In addition to “Best New” and “Best Push,” the “7 Years” hit-makers and current MTV Cover Of The Month challengers are also up for “Best Song” and local honor “Best Danish Act.”

Shawn Mendes makes his EMA stage debut with four nods under his belt, including “Best Male,” “Best Pop,” “Biggest Fans” and “Best Canadian Act.” The superstar’s sophomore album, Illuminate, was released this September to wide critical acclaim and went #1 in 65 countries on iTunes. After becoming one of the world’s most-followed musicians online, he was discovered by artist manager Andrew Gertler and signed to Island Records. His debut album Handwritten included the quadruple-platinum smash “Stitches.” Mendes was named as one of Time Magazine’s “Most Influential Teens” of 2014 and 2015, as well as one of Forbes’ “30 Under 30” in 2016, and he won “Favorite New Artist” at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards.

Nominated for “Best New” and “Best Swedish Act,” global pop sensation Zara Larsson brings the party to the Rotterdam this November. Larsson first caught the public’s eyes and ears in 2008 as the winner of the popular Swedish talent show Talang Sverige (the regional version of America’s Got Talent). She then inked a deal with Ten Music Group and issued her debut EP Introducing, which featured the triple-platinum single “Uncover,” in 2013. Two of her latest singles, “Lush Life” reached the Top Ten across Europe, then “Never Forget You” (featuring MNEK) hit the Top Ten in Great Britain, the Nordics, Benelux and went 2 x Platinum in the United States.
