Shailene Woodley is not interested in doing the last chapter of the dystopian movie franchise, “Divergent.” After reports have indicated that the final film in the trilogy, “Ascendant,” will go on as a TV show instead of a movie, the actress said she will no longer be a part of it.

“I didn’t sign up to be in a television show,” the actress confirmed, via Screen Rant. “Out of respect to the studio and everyone in involved, they may have changed their mind and may be doing something different, but I’m not necessarily interested in doing a television show.” It should be noted that Woodley got her start as a TV actress in the ABC Family drama “The Secret Life of An American Teenager,” which was on the air for five seasons. Since then, the actress has been flourishing as a movie actress.

Woodley’s pronouncements only reaffirmed what his “Divergent” co-star, Miles Teller, have said in the past. “We all signed on for it in hopes that it’d be released in theaters, and we all had every intention of finishing [the franchise],” said Teller via The Hollywood Reporter.

Changes in “Divergent” cropped up when the last installment to the franchise, “Allegiant,” bombed at the box office. “Ascendant” was supposed to have a summer 2017 theater date, but production has not moved forward.

The “Divergent” movies also star Theo James, Ansel Elgort and Kate Winslet. The story is based on a book series released by Veronica Roth. Lionsgate is the studio behind the movie.
