With “Castle” officially cancelled on ABC after Season 8 last May, the show’s actors have been keeping busy with new projects. Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic and Jon Huertas have been confirmed in new productions this coming fall. What are these and where can you watch these former “Castle” stars?

Nathan Fillion is going to guest star in “Modern Family” Season 8, which returns to television in September. Per Deadline, the actor will be guest appearing in multi-episodes as the weatherman, Rainor Shine, who has ties with the Dunphies.

Stana Katic will be seen in Lifetime in the TV movie “Sister Cities,” per TV Line. The actress filmed this back in 2015, but it will finally hit the air on Saturday Sept. 17. Stana Katic is also going to do a stage production of “White Rabbit Red Rabbit,” also in September. The show will be held at the Westside Theater in New York.

Jon Huertas snags his first role after “Castle” via the NBC comedy drama “This Is Us.” The series is headlined by Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia. Huertas will play one of the lead character’s friend and it will be a recurring role. “This Is Us” is going to begin its first season run on NBC Tuesday, Sept. 20, per TV Fanatic.

“Castle” was supposedly going to continue with Season 9 even with the absence of Stana Katic, who has opted not to renew her contract. But in the final weeks of its last season, ABC decided to cancel the show altogether.
