NBC has officially confirmed that it is moving ahead with the spinoff to “The Blacklist” called “The Blacklist: Redemption.” The show had its backdoor pilot on Thursday, May 12, but the series will be officially debuting this coming fall.

“The Blacklist: Redemption” will star Ryan Eggold, who will reprise his role as Tom Keene. Famke Janssen has been cast in the leading role as well. She will play Susan “Scottie” Hargrave who is the head of Grey Matters, a covert group.

Tom learns about Scottie’s past and in uncovering this, he finds out that she’s actually his biological mother. His relationship with Scottie is a lot similar to Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) and Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) in the original series, per Deadline. Together, Tom and Scottie team up to fight other criminals in the world of espionage. However,  Tom will also dig deeper into his own life to learn about the mysteries that continue to hound him.

“The Blacklist: Redemption” will also have Tawny Cypress and Edi Gathegi in the cast. More casting announcement will take place as the show further develops. “The Blacklist” spinoff was also written by Jon Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath.
