Obama remains in excellent health, lowers cholesterol level

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama’s doctor says the president’s health remains excellent overall and that he has even improved from his last physical by lowering his cholesterol level and gaining muscle.

Obama, 54, weighs in at 175 pounds (80 kilograms), about 5 pounds (2.2 kilograms) less than from his last assessment in 2014. Dr. Ronny Jackson, the president’s physician, says the “president continues to focus on healthy lifestyle choices.”
Jackson says all clinical data indicates the president is very healthy and that he will remain so for the duration of his presidency.

Jackson says Obama takes Vitamin D, Nexium as needed for occasional acid reflux, and that he occasionally uses nicotine gum. He says Obama “remains tobacco free and only drinks alcohol occasionally and in moderation.” He continues to exercise daily. (AP)
