Perhaps going back to work is the best way to mourn and Celine Dion is doing just that when she appears at the Ceasars Palace stage in Las Vegas Saturday.
Celine’s husband of 21 years, René Angélil, died from cancer on Jan. 14 and his funeral is happening Friday. “That’s what René would want. He wants her to perform and come back,” a source told People. “He knew her better than anybody and he probably knows that’s what she needs too, to perform.” René was Celine’s manager for over 30 years.
During her husband’s final days, Celine was on had to take care of him 24/7 and was with him when he passed, along with their three kids, Rene-Charles, 15, and 5-year-old twin boys, Eddy and Nelson. Following his death, Celine announced the cancellation of her shows in Las Vegas.
According to Yahoo, the singer’s husband planned his own memorial months before his death. It will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, where the couple also married in 1994.
