‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ TV Remake Casts Victoria Justice, Ryan McCartan

Original_Rocky_Horror_Picture_Show_posterVictoria Justice and Ryan McCartan have been picked to lead the Fox TV remake of “Rocky Horror Picture Show.” The actors will be playing the roles of Janet and Brad, who were originally played by Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick in the movie version that ran in 1975.

Justice is best known for her Nickelodeon series “Victorious, while McCartan has a recurring part in “Liv and Maddie” on the Disney Channel.

The remake, which is set for a two-hour telecast on the network, will also star Laverne Cox who was announced as the first cast to join the musical. Broadway star Reeve Carney will also be in the remake, along with Star Nair, according to The Wrap.

Deadline reports that the production will begin shooting this winter in time for its debut in the fall.

“Rocky Horror Picture Show” is about a couple who meets Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a mad scientist, who is mounting a science convention to reveal a muscled man from his “creation.” The doctor tries to seduce the couple in separated instances.

The production will be directed by Kenny Ortega.
