Soul crooner Lionel Richie confirms he could soon be working with Adele. The 66-year-old music artist formed a bond with the British singing superstar following the viral mash-up video release of “Hello.”

Both artists released the song with the same title that inspired someone to put it together, but while Richie’s “Hello” was a hit in the 80s, Adele’s song was released only last month and became a mega-hit.

“We are going to be doing something together – that’s already almost in the works. I can almost say that we are talking,” Richie told the press, according to E! Online.”But right now she has a mission. Her mission is to get her record out and go on tour, so until she finishes that cycle, that won’t happen just yet. She is committed to that,” Richie added.

Richie also candidly revealed that people have been calling him up when the “Hello” video came out. “I don’t own ‘Hello.’ I own the melody,” he would tell friends, per AZ Central.   “But, what it did was it blew everything to the ceiling. The conversation came up. If you say Adele and you say Lionel or Lionel and Adele … that’s the best pairing you could have!”

Meanwhile, the singer is embarking on a 20-show Las Vegas event at Planet Hollywood by April 2016.
