Betty White is Daytime Emmy’s Lifetime Achievement Awardee

Betty White, now 93 years old, is unstoppable. The beloved actress, who up until recently, is still quite visible on television in the TV series “Hot In Cleveland,” and she’s still as spunky as ever. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences this morning announced she will be this year’s recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmys. Read on.

Her illustrious career on television began in the 1950’s and on April 26, the Academy will be honoring Betty White for her achievements.

“Betty’s career as a female pioneer has followed television from literally the beginning of the medium, winning her first Emmy Award in 1952, to the digital-streaming future, winning again in 2010. She is one of the most beloved female performers in the history of television,” said the Academy’s president Bob Mauro in their press release, as published on various news sites.

White, an institution on American television, has received five Emmy awards in her career and was nominated a total of 21 times. She has been part of hit series like “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “The Love Boat,” “The Golden Girls” and recently, she did her own comedy sketch series “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers” with NBC.

On daytime shows, White had a recurring part in the soap drama “The Bold and the Beautiful” between 2006 to 2009. Earlier, she was hosting game shows and in fact received an Emmy award for “Just Men,” a dating game show that aired back in the 1980s.

She will join other Lifetime awards recipient on the list like Oprah Winfrey, Regis Philbin and Barbara Walters.

The Daytime Emmy’s will air on April 26, 2015 on the Pop channel.
